The magic of Washing Machines

So what`s the deal with washing machines?
The more I think about it the less it makes sense.
How come putting dirty pices of cloths together, with some soap while they are running around them selves in a metal wheel gets all the grease, mud, soup bits and strawberry signs out?

  2. the grease, blood, strawsberry and mud does not go away while soaked in soapy water; rotating laundry slowly in soapy water is just like soaking, just more efficient since the water in contact with the laundry keeps circulating.

due to the soaking, the dirt gets softer and less attached to the fabrique; then -- during the rinsing -- it is flushed away
